Threat to T’ukhnakal Mansion

CHW is closely monitoring large-scale earth moving immediately east of the late-18th c. T’ukhnakal mansion, located 1km east of Moshkhmhat. As of July 20, the condition of the structure appears unchanged since before the war. But the proximity of construction raises concern.

According to Monument Watch, oral histories attribute the mansion to the Dolukhanyans, a noble family known from 19th c. sources. Visible in sat imagery is a central domed room (southern bldg) and a bldg to the north. For more: https://bit.ly/3ieHcMU.

CHW urges Az. authorities to ensure the continued preservation of this historic monument. @UNESCO_AZ @ArmUNESCO.
